Role Description : 

The Graphic Designer will be the brain behind anything creative delivered by Yellow – both to clients and in-house. From SEO-approved websites to wonderfully designed banners, you will be in charge of a diverse portfolio of local clients.

Qualifications:

  •  A Degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent

Experience: 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • A strong understanding of design principles with the ability to apply them to a range of projects
  • A Design Portfolio is considered a must
  • Training will be provided on the job
  •  At least 2 years of experience in this role will be considered an asset
Role Responsibilities:
  • UI/UX design for websites
  • Meet with customers to understand their needs and create appropriate solutions that adhere to their brand identity
  • Work within the Marketing Team to ensure websites follow the best SEO industry practises
  • Prioritise and manage own workload while taking ownership of deadlines across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Create banners booked by our clients which will feature on local news portals
  • Create animations when needed
  • Create logos for clients
  • Create in-house marketing materials
  • Ensure an all-around consistency of client brands
  • Collaborate with content writers, product marketers and account managers to produce relevant designs that meet the needs of both key stakeholders and the audience
  • Contribute to any other creative projects as needed
  • Stay up-to-date with developments and trends to create content that is innovative and original
Skills: 
  • A flair for design, creativity and imagination
  • Ability to hit all deadlines and improve efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality
  • Be open-minded, self-motivated and active with an innate thirst for learning to improve skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written Maltese and English Languages
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, After Effects and Figma
  • Able to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently to meet daily quota and deadlines and to complete tasks as requested
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles

I started out working at Yellow for my apprenticeship due to my studies in Marketing and fell in love with the environment so much that I continued working with the company on a part-time bases. I've been working at Yellow since 2013 and although I left on a different work venture, I've always kept contact with the Yellow family. I returned to work with the company in 2017 and it felt like I never had left. Apart from great colleagues and friends, here I get to do a job that lets me be creative.
