Job Description

Yellow, Discover Local, Malta is looking to recruit a Web Designer to join their team on a full-time basis. The Web Designer is responsible for the design, layout and coding of our customer websites. They are involved with the technical and graphical aspects of a website, how the site works and how it looks. They are also responsible for meeting with the customers to understand their needs and provide design solutions and any maintenance on existing sites.

The Role entails:

  • Meet with customers and conceptualizing creative ideas while designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring that they are in line with their brand
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to the client
  • Conceptualize original website design ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex roadblocks
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and sitemaps to communicate interaction and design ideas as needed
  • Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  • Work with the SEO team to ensure websites are following the best industry practices related to Search Engine Optimisation
  • Proactively scope and present new ideas to improve our website experience for prospects, leads, and customers
  • Create and optimize our web project management, hitting all deadlines and improving efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality web development.

You must have:

  • A flair for design, creativity and imagination
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in design, UI & UX
  • Adaptable and be able to pick up new techniques
  • Must display leadership skills as the role required the influence of others through collaboration
  • Adaptability in the ever-changing digital space and the ability to think like a consumer are essential
  • Must not be afraid to try new things and experiment with new practices and technologies
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skill
  • 3+ years experience in web and graphic design
  • Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other visual design tools
  • Knowledge of CMS standards and functionality
  • Past proven experience designing website for customers
  • Knowledge of content marketing a plus
  • Basic knowledge of front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript
  • Secondary/Tertiary level in Graphic/Web Design with a specialisation in UI/UX.
